2026 State Summer Games
The 2026 State Summer Games will be held in Gillette, WY on April 30-May 2. The sports offered will include athletics, swimming, basketball, and powerlifting. Area Games will be held 2-3 weeks prior to state and are required in order to compete at State.
The 2026 Special Olympics USA Games will bring together 4,000 athletes, 1,500 coaches, 10,000 volunteers and 75,000 fans from all 50 states.
Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools® bring together students with and without intellectual disabilities through education, sports and youth leadership to provide them with the knowledge, attitudes and skills necessary to create and sustain school communities that promote acceptance and respect.
Athletes advance to higher levels of competition, through criteria established by the previous level of competition in accordance with Special Olympics policies and procedures.
Everyone deserves a chance at a happy and purposeful life, yet people with intellectual disabilities face doubt, barriers, and low expectations. Our strategic plan provides a framework to enhance the lives of people with intellectual disabilities and connect people with important resources in thier local communities.
